Our method

Media Academy Iraq (MAI) addresses the needs of media outlets and spokespeople, and the lack of fitting, tailor-made professional services for local media houses, NGOs, government agencies, higher education institutes and international organisations. MAI applies a hybrid approach to reinforce the quality of media in Iraq, engaging in the following activities:

1) Management consultancy: The establishment of efficient and effective management structures and processes is key to the operation of a media outlet. Media Academy Iraq (MAI) supports media outlets to develop these in the following fields: business development and finance, human resources, communication and working processes, as well as quality control.

2) Training: Media Academy Iraq (MAI) addresses the training needs of media, civil society, and political offices alike to promote effective political communication and journalism. Its training courses include a wide range of technical, theoretical and practical training programs for spokespeople, as well as TV, print, radio and online journalists. Tailor-made course also cater to other media professionals.

Regardless of whether training or consulting services have been demanded, the scope of all services is defined by individual assessments of the client’s needs. Consulting and training can be delivered on-site all over the country, online or at MAI’s offices in Iraq and Kurdistan.
